Maria.jpg Hi there, I started this Company way back in 1991 and things have certainly changed a lot since then.  Throughout the years we have gone from strength to strength, thanks also to the efficient team that I now have.    I’m still very much hands on the job, especially when it comes to the customer.  Unfortunately in today’s modern and frenetic world it’s all too easy to forget that it’s the customer that really matters, otherwise we wouldn’t still be in business, right?  We’ve decided to split the business into two divisions  – Family and Business because at Caledonian we’ve never lost touch with our clients or their ever changing needs.  I spend a lot of my time talking to them face to face, making sure they get just the type of service they are looking for.  Sometimes they don’t really know what it is exactly that meets their needs so we do some brainstorming together and a new idea always comes out of it.  So please don’t ever think you are disturbing me, give me a call and let me help you!

vernie.png Hi, I joined Caledonian in 1999 and became co-owner in 2004. 

I help Maria make all the major decisions in the company and also support her in any major changes we decide to make together.  

I’m the engineer around here so I’m the person who provides any technical support, making sure that all our computer systems talk to each other and that all the machines in the office are running smoothly.

I have the last say when it comes to highly technical translations, providing that touch of added value that makes the difference between a translation and a document that could have been written in English in the first place.

There is a lot that goes into course design.  Once we have determined our clients’ level and needs via our  thorough placement process, I come in and create a suitable course for them.  I mix a variety of methodologies and approaches with the latest material available in order to allow our clients to learn and reach their objectives.  I also assist our trainers with updated material and try to make their lives easier.  I take care of cancellations as well as keep relationships with HR managers by updating them monthly.

On the side, I am the editor of our newsletter which you can download on our site every month.

Hi there, I'm Marco Santagostino Pretina and I'm the one who takes care of our Translation and Interpreting Department.  I've been here since February 2009, having spent a couple of years as a free lance translator after completing my postgraduate in Conference Interpreting.  I co-ordinate over 150 translators and interpreters from all parts of the world, offering more than 30 different languages.  It's a very interesting job as I take care of the whole process from the offer to invoicing.  So wether you require an interpreter for a meeting or a conference or just a simple written translation in any language, I'm the one to call.
